The deacon and I enjoyed our vacation in Jamaica and will likely go back again. This is a glimpse of what we saw and did there. We began by flying into Montego Bay.

We also went to Rick’s Cafe, in Negril, to watch some cliff diving.

In addition to cliff diving, we were supposed to see the sunset. Unfortunately, some asshole on our bus booked dinner reservations at the same time as sunset at Rick’s. The deacon valiantly restrained me from throttling her.

I even managed to roll off my float for a little while and do some snorkeling.

Now, I’m officially in detox mode.

Snorkeling is great fun. I didn’t have many chances in Puerto Rico or the D.R. but it was probably the highlight of my trip to Maui, where I hitched a ride on the rear flipper of a giant sea turtle. True.

That looks like a great time. My wife’s been not-so-subtly hinting that the Caribbean looks like a nice place for a vacation. Though I notice a strange absence of Bob Marley images among your photos.

About as close to Jamaica as I’ll ever get again is at my youngest son’s mother-in-law’s place.
There may be snow on the ground outside, but inside that wonderful accent, “de jawnie caaayk” for breakfast… aaahh.
Still, swimming in the ocean instead of seeing snow under the bushes has got to be a treat.

Evo:
I enjoyed snorkeling and look forward to doing it again. But I’ll leave the sea turtles alone.

Your wife is right. Pay attention to her.

Coming home was tough. DC’s shitty weather this past week hasn’t made it any easier.
