Here is hoping that you don’t come back Roman Catholic. Second thought, maybe I should wish that if you happen to see the Pope you abstain yourself from spitting at him, lest you get arrested.
Dress up as a bum and try to get the Pope to wash your feet. See if he tries to touch you inappropriately. Then again, as you are an adult female, that’s unlikely. Maybe you can find some heretofore unseen “easter eggs” that Michelangelo hid in the Sistene Chapel as an “F— you” to the Catholic Church.
If you get anywhere near Lucca (just over the hill from Pisa) , there’s a wonderful restaurant outside of town, called La Ceccha. It servea amazing Tuscan country food without a ridiculous price. I think ours ended up being about 20 dollars apiece, including the wine. It’s been two years since I was there, and I still remember those meals!

I didn’t see the pope. Of course, I avoided going to the Vatican on a day when he’s out and about in public.

I’m still sorting out the pictures. I’m sure you and your husband would enjoy a trip to Italy. Go for it, gal!

Dress up as a bum…
The deacon has been working hard to get me to break that habit. He’ll tell you I don’t need much encouragement to dress, shall we say, casually.
Melliferax:
Sweden is on my list of places to visit. But, not this year.
Chanson:
A trip to Switzerland and Austria may be next on the list. Perhaps in two years or so.

We didn’t get anywhere near Pisa, but we found some nice restaurants in Venice and Rome. The food and wine were great everywhere we went. I may never be able to eat Domino’s or Papa John’s pizza again.
Sarge:
My grandfather emigrated to the USA from Catania. We didn’t make it to Sicily on this trip, but I’d love to go there.

You lucky duck!! My husband is Italian, and still has relatives in Italy. Can’t wait to visit there, maybe in a year or two.
Hope you take tons of pictures.
Enjoy.

Sweet, enjoy your holiday! I would suggest making a detour to Sweden, but it’s not super-nice this time of year so nevermind.

I wish I’d have known sooner, you could have looked in on my youngest and his family. They live outside of Catania at NAS Sigonella
